Reminiscence

My heart is full of others\' sorrow

A sponge, if squeezed, driples their blood not mine

Flashbacks of memories black and white very abominable

Smiles and laughs echo in all shades of blue

A blue that overwhelmed the rainbow

Beaches and malls that were always overcrowded and eerie

A mother putting herself under to raise her cubs

On top of a hill where she trusted was hope

If I could chop my heart into equal pieces to fill the emptiness in their chests to be whole again

Building a castle of ice cubes with false sweat

Left us to sink with no lifejackets

Confused and wandering between these broad brackets

A meaningless sentence on a billboard on a highway

No punctuation scattered all over in a disarray

All my suffering is forgotten when I see their agony

Their blacks and whites emerging to make my grey
