To my wife

It\'s been 54 years, since our first blind date.

When you stood me up, it must have been fate.

We eventually met, a personal high.

Many years have gone by, with only a sigh.

It\'s now 54 years, that we\'ve been together,

through cars, bikes and boats, and all kinds of weather.

Two really great kids, with which we\'ve been blessed,

have kids of their own, which are also the best.

All our working lives, it seems we\'ve been tired,

It would really be nice, to be fully retired.

When I think back, to those long past year\'s,

it\'s frequently difficult, to hold back the tears.

We\'ve not always agreed, ‘bout kids, cars and funds.

But being with you, has always been fun.

More memories ahead, in upcoming years.

I’m anxious to see, with our dreams and our fears.

I loved you yesterday, and more so today.

How much may be ask, it\'s impossible to say.

You are my heart, my mind my soul.

My reason for being, you make me whole.

Those three little words, just do not convey,

my message to you, is not easy to say.

The best part of me, they say it so true.

I can honestly say, has always been you.

Since we first met, every moment with you,

all we have done, all we\'ve been through.

Has been a real joy, in all that we do.

It\'s always more fun, when I am with you.

An amateurish poem that is quite true. I\'ll close it by saying...

That you are, without a doubt, the best thing that has ever happened to me in my life. Through the good, the bad, the sickness, the health, the happy, the sad, you have always been there, at my side, pushing me, or pulling me, leading the way, or covering my back. I love you more than you could possibly ever imagine. You are so much more than my better half. You are my reason for being. You are my life. Words are so incredibly insufficient, but it\'s all I have to try to convey my feelings. So, to my wife, the heck with this poem. Let me just say that I LOVE YOU. I always have. I always will. Here’s to our next 50 years.

(sorry that last part didn\'t rhyme)
