Feast of unleavened bread drew nigh
Passover, Jesus was to die
But shared first of the bread and wine
The Lamb of God, the Life Divine
Chief priests and scribes sought how they may
Kill Christ, they feared people that day
They looked for secret, subtle way
Judas did His Master betray
Stepped into darkness, Satan filled
His heart, mind, his passions unhealed
Judas Iscariot did go
Unto chief priests, scribes, he did show
Evil rejoiced, money promised
To Judas, he did not resist
But thirty silver coins price
Of betrayal did him suffice
Then time came, he did with a kiss
Betray Jesus, pretence of bliss
Help us, Lord, from selfishness turn
Does our love for you so slight burn?
Will we value you so little
That we turn, do deeds that appal?
