Like those around me, I was taught to draw large circles.
Like those around me, I learned the circular motion of my feet cycling through life’s hard lessons.
Like those around me, I felt the war in my heart, mind and soul.
Like those around me, a part of me yearned for my feet to walk on an infinite straight line.
Like those around me, a part of me held self belief in mastery through experience.
Like those around me, a part of me feared drawing a crooked line instead of a straight line.
Like those around me, a part of me feared that I was unworthy of an ambitious possibility.
Now unlike the people around me, I am choosing hope over fear.
Now unlike the people around me, I am choosing to see my worth instead of delusions of lack.
Now unlike the people around me, I walk in a straight line instead of circular motions.
