A Dead One\'s Nightmare

Did you care when you were alive?

It’s always going to be with you once you die.

You never looked up.

That was the nightmare of the dead.

Not wanting to see what hovers over your head.

With your mind in deep water,

And your eyes seeing red,

You knew they got you

With the nightmares of the dead.

Woven stories of your life floated around.

Begging to be seen, so you kept your eyes on the ground.

It was your choice to live like a dream.

Going about your day hiding the horrendous parts it seems.

You knew it wouldn’t last, and that was the part you dread.

So why does it still scare you now that you’re dead?

There is nothing those visions can do but shed a light.

That was a dead one\'s nightmare, an everlasting fight.
