Walking with you brings more than I offer.
For each step into your sacred space
Allows me to confide
Every intimate contemplation
On your natural altar.
There among your quiet lucidity
My infinitesimal being
Becomes transformed,
Between tall and noble columns
Whose deep roots and majestic branches
Reach far below and high above
The most hallowed ground
And an endless, ascending clear blue sky.
It is here your imagination makes me infinite.
The soft and serene chorus
Sung from the cold babbling brook
Calls me back to the source from which I came.
In your menagerie of color and companions
I am allowed to roam free.
In such lofty presence
The company of angels convene.
Wings so majestic
Spread their magnificence,
Soar on pillars of warm air.
Beasts both great and small
Stride boldly and bask
In fields of your floral wonder
Inspiring in me a new kind of breathing.
Reveling in the refrains of life
The echoes of my discontent diminish
And my spirit is given renewal
Among the golden rays
Touching me as if Heaven
Blessed me alone with its affection
And yet sharing equally with all
Its universal appeal.
I embrace all your tranquility
Not as fickle romantic
But a reverent pilgrim
Eager to explore your vast wonder.
So as night divides the day
I lay me down to awake again in your dreams.
