On my first attempt, I stood on the firm ground,
With a posture upright.
And took a big leap, giving it all I had.
But didn’t get any further than a fly.
So, on my second attempt, I decided I had to get creative,
I took my dining chair outside, and climbed atop the seat,
To see if my height could be amplified.
So I gave it another shot, but to no surprise,
I still hadn’t touched the sky.
Finally, on my third attempt, I was fussed about my blunders,
I dragged the whole dining table to the front yard,
And set two chairs, one on top of the other.
I climbed the makeshift mountain until I reached the peak,
And with all my might in me, I sprung remarkably high.
And just like that, I had done it.
I was in flight, embracing the baby blue,
I was passing each cloud, with growing altitude.
Until something in my neck didn’t feel right,
It was as if it had been pressed very tight.
And then a flicker of light had hit my eyes,
As I blinked with rapid flutters,
I had realized,
The blue man that slowly approached, and cynically said with a sigh:
“It’s a miracle you weren’t paralyzed.”
