The Taste of Words

Words taste so bitter in my mouth,

The more I breathe

The more they stumble out,

A bitter sweet taste on my tongue----

The taste of things

Aren\'t quite as fun,

Have you ever sat with depression?

Tasted the moon,

Sank in the water,

Until salt tasted taboo,

Have you ever drunk in anger?

Become filled in a drunk daze,

Tasted liquor

Until the anger fades to pain,

How about have a sip of loneliness

Let it linger on your tongue,

A bitter bitter taste

That leaves us quite spun,

Did you enjoy happiness?

A burst of sweet life,

Bathed in beauty

Until you taste petals and sunlight,

Now drink some anxiety,

Did you think happiness would last?

The taste is only a second

Until you enjoy the taste of sweet ash,

I don\'t quite like the taste,

Of anger, anxiety, or loneliness for happiness sake,

I don\'t like the salt on my tongue

The fire that burns without wood

Or dead grass,

But somehow out all of these tastes,

These gifts of life

I should enjoy for my sake

I enjoy the taste of words the least,

Because it\'s the feelings

Of things left unsaid

That taste the bitterest at 3 a.m.
