Be At Your Feet

My path is paved with pebbles
Sometimes with stone, sweat or mud
No matter the weather, I make
One foot pass another
Happy or hurt, I move
Though wind and rain
May swirl and fall, I remember
Always be at your feet

My eyes, my heart and belly
Burn with a fire in need
Mind and muscle stay in motion
Pure as water that shapes its way
Hands stay wide open
Ready to greet what’s next
Behind or too far, I remember
Always be at your feet

My Zen wears t-shirt and blue jeans
Works until I need rest
Water, feet and mind must move
So to keep from growing stale
Happy or hurt, I remember
If going through Hell, keep going
Behind or too far are small matters
Always be at your feet.
