The Sweet Pea Plant

Day in, day out - she is there,

Wisps of her fragrance fill the air.

The wind blows faintly on each flower,

She holds her posture, hour after hour.

Her petals are pink and tinged with joy,

Like the pure elation a child finds in a toy.

In the Summer evenings I sit and I stare,

At her elegant beauty, so stunning, so rare,

Day in, day out, she is always there.
