Orpheus Never \'Loved\' Eurydice

Love was always here, don\'t you see?

The indent in the chair-

Love has always observed

so how come you never

noticed?

Love has always walked beside

you; in company

in solitude

it never left.

Love has always hidden in plain site:

Never \'Orpheus loved Eurydice\'

but always \'Orpheus and Eurydice\'.

Never \'Achilles loved Patroclus\'

but always \'Achilles and Patroclus\'.

Never \'I love you\'

but You and I, Me and you.

Never \'I love being yours\',

\'you love being mine\'

but Yours, and Mine.

Love has always brought

together things that are meant

to be

that makes sense,

like how a scholar loves a debate,

and like how a queen loves her people,

and like how an artist loves the high from colours,

and like how a pen loves the pages,

and like how the pages love

the words that mark it full

of Love in the form of

extended metaphors to offer experiences

justice

in the form of

additional clauses wishing to

give enough detail to replicate the delicateness

of you right beside me

in the form of \'and\'.

Love has always been here.

You

and

I
