Persist in prayer, as asking friend
That he three loaves you lend
For a visitor has to me
Come, and I have not, see
Any food to give him, and he
Tired from his journey be
Though it midnight, you friend, I ask
Do for me this fine task
Yet his friend and his family
They all gone to bed be
His friend answers him from within
Be gone, till day begin
But trouble me not now, for door
Is all locked up for sure
And we are settling for the night
Come back in morning light
But if his friend will not give to
Him, he persist anew
So if it not for friendship\'s sake
His persistence will make
His friend arise and give him bread
That the needy be fed
So ask and seek and knock in prayer
You shall find welcome there
