Get Boring

It’s cool outside this morning
Air still sticky, slowly warming
Loud chirps, trill joyfully, story forming…
Blue jay dances on neighbor’s roof, horny
Say what you will, you’re only bored if you’re boring

Days run too long. Early booze getting poured
By nine at nite I’m out of my gourd
Down a few more ‘til I’m hitting the floor
Wake split in the head, begging the lord
I must be boring because God I’m bored

Twiddle my thumbs and carve out a word
About being broken, reborn, less a turd
How we’re all the universe or something absurd
Dig at a soul and gold oozes forward
Sometimes to get boring, one must be bored
