Shadows
of my past
haunt me
they stand
against the walls
never fading away
they are watching
listening, mocking
every word I say
I am scared now
they\'re following me
everywhere I go
my mind, heart and soul
are captured by their presence
allowing them to take over
once close enough
they take hold
draining my body
I have no energy left
no motivation, no life
soon to succumb to their will
I am losing the fight
as the end is near
I plead for help
suddenly a light
shines from within
and I smile
pushing away
the bad memories
of what I left behind
deep down in my heart
I was able to revive
the power in my soul
as it takes control
clearing my mind
and erasing the demons
the shadows from hell.
