Gravity pulls you backward,
Ghostly fingers tugging on
Your shoulder blades like a
Lost traveler summoning
Companionship beyond the
Realm of what is known.
Your body makes impact
With the algae-laden lagoon
Behind you, arresting your
Momentum, a free-fall into
The portal of lustful euphoria.
Turquoise and Chartreuse
Wash your skin with their oily
sheen, suffocating in ecstasy.
Scattered water droplets float
About your head like a crown
Birthed from the sea, each
Spore containing a universe
Trapped inside its microscopic
Shell. You emerge gasping,
The lagoon washing clean the
Slate of your soul, as willow
Leaves kiss the rippled surface
Of the crystal blue water. You
Emerge upon the azure shore,
Naked skin shimmering in the
Fiery glow of the rising sun, a
Halo of light caressing tender
Locks of auburn waves. Your
Toes weave between lilacs and
Blooming narcissus, a carpet
Of wonderment leading deeper
Into this realm of the fantastical.
Fairies and sprites prance
Through the sultry spring air,
Their diaphanous wings locked
Together, twined in an undying
Dance as petal-woven gowns
Swish, encircling their delicate
Yet ethereal digits. They tug
Insistently at your nimble legs,
Ushering you deeper into the
forest, into the heart of your
Mind’s conjured oasis. You
Follow obediently, feeling
Velvet vines encircle your
Arms, tendrils touching and
Exploring your foreign skin.
Wisteria blossoms weep at
Your feet, fallen from above,
An amethyst curtain veiling
Age-old mysteries wrapped
In glamor, hidden from the
Outside world. You follow
The tinkling laughter, delving
Further into the ecstasy of
Your untapped imagination.
