Superficial love
Claiming to emulate Christ
But you seize authority when you have no right
And you\'re building a reputation of using
Those who you call family
You keep piling dynamite
In a pitch black room
Strike a match
The countdown starts tick, tick, boom
The sound a life shattering
A person who wouldn\'t care for herself
And laid her life down for everyone else
Superficial savior
Looking for all who need rescuing
While enabling your own son\'s bad habit
I\'ve had it with you
Look inside, you can\'t put band-aids on bullet holes
Festering and fragile
Save yourself or ask the Savior to save you
Admit you need help
Have you grown numb
Why won\'t you get out
You\'re no martyr, just a willing victim
Take the blame for both actions and inaction
That have bred this superficial savior complex
Which is built on nothing but pride
Put down the weight and pick up your cross
Not everyone else\'s
Those are not yours to bear
No one to rescue, stand on your own
And give that drug over to the One you keep trying to replace
Saviorself or watch your life explode
