Good-bye to the work week
A new agenda for me
The age of retirement
Dictating the time, I see
Social Security and Pension
My new income
With time on my side
My projects get done
Now my alarm clock works for me
With more time on my hands
Those projects and hobbies
All at my own command
My keyboard at my fingertips
When my Muse has spoken
Inspiring me
Of a lyrical devotion
Time challenges me
To fill my days
Keeping boredom at bay
Let me count the ways
From my life
Still enough left for giving
From the depths of my heart and soul
A life worth living
And should I
Run out of things to do
There’s always a chair on my porch
My back-up plan to go to
What used to be
Sunday through Friday
Now all the same
For now, everyday is Saturday
