I’m locked and loaded, here waiting for my shot,
Got more patience and persistence than I thought,
I’ll wait on the stand, but hoping you don’t postpone,
I’m craving the experience of your flesh and bone.
Won’t you come closer, don’t make me aim high,
Physically waiting to see the light behind your eye.
Sweating expected bullets, so I brought a full clip,
Taking time with you- I can’t shoot from the hip.
Scoping you out- my sight down the barrel aligns,
With a firm grip, lining myself up with the signs.
And to be honest, my safety has never been used,
I’ll still show up vulnerable, despite that past abuse.
I’m both ready and able, so please don’t be gun shy
It’s not like I’m leaving here until I hit your bullseye
Understand it’s not for the kill, but to make you fall.
I’m giving this my best shot- just please don’t stall.
