Lord Montgomery

The Closure of an Envelope

I choose to write now for memory

For the gifts and for treasured words, ideally lasting a while

The words so genuinely heartfelt

I long to leave their intended readers with a smile

I hope they find this little piece of me

With all its intended humour, nuance, and sincerity

But as I part ways with them and this chapter of my life closes

So too does the envelope so important

Yet some see it as worthless.
