NIGERIA @62🇳🇬

NIGERIA AT 62

Independence but yet still dependent
Like a neck lace that\'s lost its pendant
We\'re still and  struggling
Like a steal rustling

More like we are still in shackles
Our fountains in shambles
And our minerals rippling
Across every tier

A people in constant fear
Dripping in endless tears
On top the tears we\'re paddling
North and south in wrestling

We\'ve lost our place in the continent
In our leaders we lost all confident
Today we celebrate independence
Along with indebtedness

A celebration void of happiness
A nation milked to emptiness
By leaders who are merciless
We wave our flags in shame and despair
Were broken, almost beyond repair

At 62 hope is all we can afford
As we march in sole accord
We wish our voices be heard
And our yearnings be met

We pick our pieces and move on
The legacy of our heroes live on
It\'s a struggle we\'d keep up
For Nigeria we won\'t stop

Raise your cups and Cheer on
To the ones we lost to the cause
Our forbearers and our peers
Their names we carve on our freedom
Their foots printed on the sands of time
For their sake naija will be fine
For we\'re great people Great nation!
