The Monster

I sit with you,

I laugh with you,

I stay beside you,

But I feel lonely.

I do not speak,

All I do is listen to you.

I do not put an opinion,

I do not sit alone,

But neither do I talk.

I do not laugh alone,

But I do cry alone.

From time to time,

I indulge in self loathing,

Do I hate myself for being a laughing stock wherever I go,

Or am I tired of life from the get go.

I overthink my past,

I overthink my present,

Things for me remain the same,

And I do cry alone.

Lonely I feel because of my own powerlessness,

But worry not, I will become strong leaving behind all this carelessness.

For I have been told,

The world is a disgusting place,

Where strong prey upon the weak

And money is a friend with justice hand in hand.

This is the truth but worry not,

For I am the monster in creation to prey on this blooming land.
