I tried

I tried

A lone candle burns in the darkness

Her hair lies spread, multi-colored

Blue, Brown, and black

Just like her lifeless eyes.

Every day was the same

As she walks down the halls

Eating, sleeping, waking,

When will it ever end?

At home, it\'s like Dante\'s Hallucinations,

The seven rings of hell.

The scent of death, hatred, heartbreak, and remorse

Hangs in its moldy frame.

She walks into a room, dark grey

No one in sight, and so cold.

She opens the drawer

Running her fingers along the malicious weapon.

Tracing the silver barrels, slowly,

She let out a sigh and a cough.

\"Better late than never,\" she says

As fleets of memories rush back...

Birth, joyous on the occasion

Wrought steel bonds between mum and baby.

Dad stands in the corner alone and proud,

Tears were invisible in his eye.

She\'s three years now.

Screams of pain and panic at home,

Mom and dad at war.

What is marriage, and love?

She\'s a teen now.

Beautiful in everyone\'s eyes.

Soul of her mates, but

Do they feel her sorrow?

She\'s eighteen now

Youthful eyes look down, frightened

The world shuns her

Like a flower trampled in the mud.

Angelic yet a demon

Beautiful yet ugly and

Smart yet too much for her own-

Good. That\'s it, the Grand finale.

And she lifted

Up her arm

Cocked the gun

and shot herself.

\"Dead in the head\"

Her parents used to say,

She wouldn\'t survive a day.

Well, I guess that\'s true.
