What’s a black life anyway
An unimportant matter
Too small for anybody who is somebody to care
Minute.
That we would have the audacity to merely exist
How pompous to think that anybody who’s a black body could matter
White lies ricocheting off the lips of
Wolves dressed in sheep’s clothing
Piercing through the flesh of black bodies who dared to be somebody
White lies uttered to protect and serve those who matter
At whose expense?
Who will foot the bill for these white lies?
I’ll cover the tab.
Blood splattered across bronze
Another black sheep sacrificed on the altar of white lies
An offering.
A steep price to pay for the debt of white lies
Black lies don’t exist
Only black truths
Hard realities and shattered dreams
Every white lie driving me deeper into a reality where white lies matter but black lives don’t
