Children of God
We are the children of men lost on the mountain,
High up in the forest next to the clouds,
Where we have found the eternal life\'s fountain,
And now we\'ve become one with the Gods.
We are the sons and daughters of fathers,
Brought up in this world in the middle of war.
We are the joy and hope of our mothers ,
So they sent us away from the blood and the gore.
Down to the River then towards the ocean,
With tears and sorrow but with hope we have sailed.
Charged with this empty black heavy emotion,
Of not knowing if we\'re going to see them again.
The stars are blind and were facing high waters.
The evil wind is howling and the lightning is born,
The thunder is chasing us sons and us daughters,
And the only way is through the eye of the storm.
Many of us will fly up to the heavens,
And only a few of us will remain.
Lucky enough to be saved by big ravens,
We will never forget all this terrible pain.
The water is calm but our boat is all broken,
And the wind is now mute expecting more death,
Grinning and watching the last sons and daughters,
Waiting for us to take our last breath.
The sun slowly sets and the moon\'s taking over,
And blue birds are circling above in the sky.
Jealous and cold is chasing her lover ,
But tonight she will not let us die.
She\'s calling the tide to take us to freedom,
And we will be given the promise of land,
Where the forest is thick, and our pains will be hidden,
High up on the mountain in the clouds we will stand.
We are the children of men lost on the mountain,
And now we have daughters and sons of our own.
Through them we have found the eternal life\'s fountain,
Flesh of our flesh bone of our bone.
