Cut off from old life of sin
By Christ, made new within
Living out His life, power
He gives to us each hour
Baptised with Him, and old life be
Buried with Him we see
And also risen with Him we
Are, by God\'s workings free
Dead in sins, that our old state
Yet God does work things great
With Christ He brings us to life
Without our effort, strife
Forgiving us our sins, blotting
Out our debts, e\'en each thing
The laws which we cannot obey
By human will today
As the sets of laws written
He took out of way then
And nailed them unto Christ\'s cross
With things that caused our loss
He spoiled spiritual powers
He triumphed in those hours
Through Christ His Son, victory
O\'er sin and death, so be
Let no one therefore judge you
In food, drink, what you do
Or do not do, what observed
Or what is not preserved
Man\'s laws if holy days, seasons
Or sabbath\'s restrictions
Which are a shadow of things
Christ the true substance brings
