We were once creatures of nature
We sprang from this earth
Beings of its evolution
Just as every other creature
But somehow our paths diverged
We strove to dissociate from it
Our very biology challenged our mortality
And we found it hard to accept
So we forged ever onward
Stumbling upon discoveries that have led to a mechanized, technoligized world
Which we struggle daily to control
But it has made us feel immortal
Which I guess is the goal
So take a walk in the forest
Marvel at a beautiful sunset, or the glow of the moon
And realize that we are not above or below
That we are part of something truly magnificent
And if you listen very carefully
You will hear it calling us home
