Learning is boring
I’d do anything to get out of this prison!
My friends call in ‘sick’ days when I really know they aren’t ill
I could never do that, not with my parents around
If I had a chance to get out of school,
I would go to an amusement park
My parents are too busy to take me to one,
So I hope one day I’ll go to my fantasy
That’s why I love drills
When we stop learning, it’s fun
Sometimes we go outside onto the big field,
We are only aloud on it at recess time usually
Sometimes we coop up in the corner like we’re spies
Sometimes we just stay where we are and play the quiet game
Either way it’s fun, we aren’t learning at all
A fantasy to dream about
When the announcement comes on,
I chatter with my friends
Announcements never prove worthy
Who would wanna know about the lunch special mashed potatoes?
However, my teacher quiets us down
She must have old ears!
The lights are turned off, nap time! My favorite!
We move the desks, to create a secret fort.
We stay cooped up in a corner, all quiet
I sometimes whisper secrets, but no one replies back
Outside, the principal walks by with her dangling keys
Except, this time there aren’t any jingles, just loud, heavy steps
The principal knocks on the door, rattles it a few times
But then the door starts shaking, giving us all a spook
This whole drill thing is a bit stupid,
But anything other than learning? Is fun.
I look at my friend, who starts screaming like a baby
She really needs to quiet down or else no recess time!
The door shook harder like a thunder clap
The door is pried open, but you could just use the keys
The principal is really strong…
Except she looks mad
I remember playing games like these in the school computer,
Except my teacher hated them
It’s like a horror movie, except when you don’t wake up
The principal raises up her hand and….
BAM!
Lectures are scary, they bore my ears
They always make it seem like watching safety videos are cool, when they really aren’t
The announcements come on again, same old, same old
It’s the beginning of another school day
I really hate school.
