A man once told me to walk, not run
He warned life would pass me by
The man told me to stop and go slow
To make friends and not be shy
The man warned time flies in the blink of an eye
He said he lived to have too many regrets
He said priceless things passed him by
He said things he won’t be enjoying when he’s dead
The man was rich but stood alone
He said he could have everything he wants and more
He stressed to me the importance of things that cannot be bought
He said he was without the thing he sought
The man said he always wanted to be rich
He believed money would make him feel fulfilled
He regrets that mentality now, because his life he cannot switch
He said a legacy he cannot build.
