When girls are little, we dream of prince charming,
Once we get older what we find can be alarming,
Instead of a prince, who will always be a mere fairy tale,
I hope for a man that makes our friendship prevail.
A friend that picks you up when you\'re down,
That can make you smile and forget to frown,
Who helps you out when you\'re in a bind,
that lets you speak without judgement of what is on your mind.
He will let you cry on his shoulder or share his own tears,
the friendship that is inseparable growing stronger with the years,
That tells you the truth and will always be found near your side,
Who can say that were perfect for each other and say it with pride.
As well as a friend, I hope for a lover inside them too,
to share the intimate areas of life after saying \'I do\'
That wants a family and wants to be an understanding, involved dad,
that reminds the children he loves them even when he is mad,
The kind of man who will still sweep me up in his arms to sway along,
whenever were together and we hear a love song,
Who can make me laugh like no other,
and still stare at me forever, like brand new lovers.
I\'ll be the only women for him, he\'ll say,
and reminds me he means it in his own way,
and even after we are old and gray,
remind me, I\'m still beautiful with each passing day.
A man who these things come natural for him and does not mind,
I hope to chance upon this man one day, because a good man is hard to find.
