In life\'s seasons, rhyme
Came for her to bear son
John Baptist the one
Her neighbours, relatives
Did acknowledge this
That the Lord great mercy
Had shown her, so be
And with her they rejoiced
Praises there were voiced
When eight days old his name
Zacharias, same
Name as his father, they
Said would be that day
But his mother said, No
Unto me hear, know
For he shall be called John
John Baptist the one
They aid, There none of your
Kin named this for sure
They then his father asked
How this should be tasked
Though he could not then speak
To write he did seek
For angel had revealed
To him as God willed
That his wife a son should
Bear, she surely would
He did not believe, so
For a while would know
Loss of speech, then restored
By grace of the Lord
So he wrote, his name shall
Be John, hear this well
Then his speech did return
The people did learn
That John would wondrously
Jesus\' herald be
Before Him prepare ways
For His coming days
