Tune: Was Lebet
(\'O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness\')
**********
O ye wise men three, what has caused you to journey far?
We in the East did see the Saviour\'s star
Travelling over moors, mountains, fields, we have been
Now the blessed one, the Christ-child we have seen
In homage to Him our gifts we Him presented
They welcomed by Him, and none rejected
Precious gold offered, it honouring to a King
We bow before Him and our worship bring
Frankincense which as a cloud up to God ascends
Our prayers unto Him, He faithful attends
Seeking His will, that His kingdom on earth may come
All holy, righteous, be His hearth* and home
Myrrh, its bitter perfume prophesies sacrifice
The Lamb of God whose offering will suffice
For our salvation, people of every nation
And risen Saviour, He Jesus, God\'s Son
[The last verse in the hymn in sometimes repeated - and so here also]
O ye wise men three, what has caused you to journey far?
We in the East did see the Saviour\'s star
Travelling over moors, mountains, fields, we have been
Now the blessed one, the Christ-child we have seen

* Verse 3 - this is \'hearth\', not a typo of \'earth\'.
