On The Same Page

you were a sentence….me a paragraph somehow we ended up on the same page

two ideas materialized from the mind of someone with a love for love as much as words….

we were the result of an author being a hopeless romantic…..
we gave publishers creativity……
and readers something to comprehend……

though you were only made of a couple words…
I was captivated by your margin…..

wishing I could indent myself closer to your settings just to see your point of view…..

you were a coffee shop in the heart of the city……
I was the drop of rain on your windows

watching these characters fall in love over hot cocoa and Frappuccinos not knowing it was you
the aesthetic….
the muse…..

making their love feel so compelling on paper it felt like a picture…..

though our word count was nowhere near a thousand…

how amazing…..

it must be…..

for the conflict between chapters to give us new pages to be us all over again…..
let’s be a first draft all over again….

I’d gladly offer myself for proof reading….

take my beginnings….
middle…..
end….

erase me place me as close to your resolution as possible….

it doesn’t matter…..

as long as the plot led us back here….
where our character development doesn’t rely on being punctual as much as it does emotional…..

so often I picture us…..
as our own book…..
with a breath taking cover….
never to be judged…

only to snap back into reality with you asking me….

“What’s your favorite book?”

us……
but when you asked me….

you were a sentence……
and I a paragraph……

thank god we ended up…..
