I thought I had it
The sparkling, glittering gem
Grasped so firmly in my hand
The one thing I thought I truly had
Then it slipped away
Crumbling
Coal dust
From my hand
Snatched up by the wind
As tears unbidden fell to the floor
Not willing to wipe them off my face lest it be a reality
But alas, it is reality
And I must
I must...
Move on
