Aisyah

Wrathful Earth

That night I fell asleep under the roof of my father and mother

so cold, that I covered up to my neck

I\'m fast asleep

i had a dream

but the bottom of the earth\'s crust woke everyone that night

the ground shifted and rumbled

my body is limp

my muscles tensed with fear

my breath caught in my neck

I embraced my mother\'s frail body

I saw my father\'s silhouette holding the door and screaming

come on hurry up kid!

I can see the white hair of his sideburns flutter above his jaw

my bare feet tread on the shifting earth

everyone is so scared

adults cry

they shouted

this is the first time I saw their ferocious faces turn into helpless fear

buildings that existed before me

crumbled down along with his memories

the cars of billions of conglomerates became skeletons of ash crushed by the rubble

the little girl screamed pitifully on her father\'s shoulder

I can\'t see her cute face anymore

because half of her face was covered in red

oh poor little girl

I never thought the earth where I live would be this angry

his anger tore the streets

shed what he could level the ground

Turkey is cloudy this morning

covered in dust

grief

sad

afraid

we are under one roof makeshift tent

those of us who are still alive search under the rubble

looking for the lost

I don\'t want to experience this again

I don\'t want to see this sad sight again

such a heartbreaking loss

but what can i do

a servant who can surrender to his almighty god

only by him we were created

and only to him we return
