A lament for life, ephemeral and fleet,
A mournful song for moments incomplete.
The hours, days, and years pass us by,
Taking with them, the reason why.
A thief in the night, with stealthy tread,
Stealing moments, with stealth and speed.
We waste our time, with procrastination,
And watch, helpless, as life fades away.
We make our plans, dream of tomorrow,
But in the end, what is the sorrow?
We chase the future, leave the past,
But life is but a fleeting blast.
We cling to memories, hold tight to dreams,
But life is but a transient stream.
We live and die, a fleeting flame,
In the dark night, never the same.
So let us grieve, for life\'s swift flight,
And curse the moments we did not fight.
For time, it waits for no one\'s call,
And life, alas, fades through our fingers, after all.
