Lullaby Of Sin

If I had the right to feel as I wish
and my moods and outbursts
were respected and not criticized,
if I felt loved no matter what
the bloom of my flower
would be a different colour.

Words, such innocent sounds
to the ear that knows no language,
and the deaf that follow the signs,
fail to be the arrows that scar the heart.

Somewhere between then and now
In the dawn of \"has to be\"
There was a soul meant to be thrown
Into the abyss of causality.

Eyes that don’t see
Hands deprived of touch
Smoke rising from the deep
The flutter of birds\' wings.

Rising and reaching
The sky is so blue and clear
Fata Morgana of wishful thinking,
The innocence of dreams.

Water and fire
Long lost desire
Balance in the core of things.
The essence of life
Long lost starlight
A secret whispered in fear
Lullaby of sin.

The choice was never mine
I was crippled right from the start
But nothing in this world was meant to last
So the choice to rise above it all
I still have.
