Nursing Home Nurse

I\'m a nursing home nurse
I work a twelve hour shift
Sometimes I wish I had something
To give me a lift
I love these old people
Some of them I call honey
And you can believe I\'m not here
Just for the money

Yeah, I\'m a nursing home nurse
I\'m proud to say
I\'m a nursing home nurse
I like working this way

I walk these halls
Givin\' shots and pills
Sometimes it seems
Like I\'m always walking up hill
But when I look back
I feel good and smile
Things always get better
In a little while

Yeah, I\'m a nursing home nurse
I\'m proud to say
I\'m a nursing home nurse
I like working this way

Now, some of my folks
They need special attention
But if they\'re a problem
It\'s never their intention
I give a hundred percent
I never get mad
And when we lose someone
It hurts and makes me sad

I\'m a nursing home nurse
I\'m proud to say
I\'m a nursing home nurse
I like working this way

My patients here
Aren\'t goin\' nowhere
They\'re like family to me
I give \'em the best of care
Sometimes things happen
That make for a tense situation
Sometimes I pray for help
And my people\'s salvation

I\'m a nursing home nurse
I\'m proud to say
I\'m a nursing home nurse
I like working this way
