The Rain of Love

Remember how hard it rained?

Your bangs into your eyes on your angelic face…

Little bumps of cold on your pencil arms…

Perfect black eyes drowning in mascara…

The sounds of your sneakers squishing on the ground, for you could not stand still…

A waterfall mist over me from your perfume…

The taste of the rain as I kissed your neck…

Tears mixed in the droplets I didn’t know you shed…

I knew it was 4 as the church bell rang…

And the wetter we got, the more I fell in love with you…

Now a rainstorm in July brings me peace…

For on that summer day, standing in the rain, in the park we loved, we saw the other in the reflection of our eyes…and we knew…

That every time it rained on a summer day, a tiny smile would appear on our skin…

To know we’ve been blessed…

Imagine the world without rain Michele?

It would be one without love…

Our pages are starting to turn yellow…

Maybe from all the rain we have shared?

So many people live a life with never even a glimpse of love…

We just wait for it to rain…

Then you take my hand and lead me out so we can stand in it, one more time.

How could you ever be more beautiful?

I see me in your eyes every time and then you smile…

How many more times can we relive a rainy summer day my love?

When I start to forget…remind me it’s raining and let’s find out.

Thank you, Michele…I loved you from that moment we felt the first drop.
