\"A woman armed with a sword is a saint.
A woman with a husband is a smudge.\" - C.T. Salazar
Eden was perfect. gracious in every way.
Golden light, platinum leaves
With silver trees, so they say.
The garden pleased Adam, but Eve
Seemed discontent; though the reason
Was not apparent. She brushed bare
Toes against downy grass grecian,
Never tripping. Walking through a prayer.
Adam ignored, but Eve was ever
Bored by her perfect world and
The Lord saw. And He endeavored
To change her mind, to make her understand.
But she refused and He called her fickle,
Eve was known by all as hysterical.
Eve was known by all. As hysterical
As they thought of her, she knew.
Somewhere she knew. Miracle
Though Eden seemed, it grew
Upon false laws. And Eve saw.
The Apple watched her watching
It. Knowing all Eden’s flaws
Would not bring Eve joy, but touching
The Apple did bring her power.
She raised it to her nose to sniff
Its saccharine stench, it was sour.
Her mind filled with images and glyphs
And prophecies. She saw and Eve cried
Knowing now that He had lied.
She knew now that He had lied
Like a snake. Eve grew furious.
Eden was dark, the leaves had died.
Illusion had made the trees glorious.
He had made Eden a prison. His
Own dollhouse for His very own doll.
He wanted something to hold, to kiss
His feet. To worship Him in His all.
In the beginning there was Him
And there was Her. And She was
Tricked by His haunting hymn.
He named Her and kept Her in His claws
The Apple tasted like iron, not sour.
She quivered in rage and Adam cowered.
She combusted with rage and He cowered
On high. She spoke and Eden broke in two.
The clouds quaked, the ground soured
With her curse, Our Father who
Art not above me. You try to control me
With a name. Thy kingdom burns. Thy will
Is overcome, Earth and Heaven agree.
I spit out your bread, I am no ant for your hill.
You trespass upon my forgiveness and
Have fallen to temptation. You deliver me
Evil with a gilded platter in one hand
And a dagger in the other. I am now free.
Eve grasped her sword and killed Adam,
And Eden was perfect, spoiled in every way — Amen.
