I have come to resent the
Place I call Home,
The only place, where I feel
Utterly alone.
I can’t be myself,
For fear of being ridiculed,
I must put on a mask,
And hope that everyone will be fooled
I can never be angry,
Or sad, upset, or fearful,
Because I need to be the strong one,
I cannot be tearful.
School isn’t much better,
I still put on a smiling face,
Even though it makes things worse,
I must pretend that I am not a disgrace.
I try so hard,
but it\'s never enough,
No matter what,
I have to bluff.
I say I\'m alright,
but it\'s all a lie,
Because the feelings inside me,
They just won\'t die.
Each day is a battle,
A fight to the death.
Each time I feel,
I know that it could be my dying breath.
I try to get by,
I put on a smile, but
I know I can\'t show,
That I can\'t finish this mile.
