An Ode to Idiots

Oh, that I were an idiot,

No folds upon my brain!

My life would be so simple made,

My finer thoughts made plain.

Oh, how I envy idiots,

For ignorance is bliss!

My stress and worries, gone away --

Who would not want for this?

I wish I were an idiot,

The world made black and white.

No countless shades of grey would be,

All would be wrong or right.

I long to be an idiot,

A void between my skull!

My actions free to roam abroad,

To do what is not dull.

But I am not an idiot,

And more\'s the pity there!

I\'m doomed to live with those who are,

Who haven\'t got a care.
