Alone in my mind, I travel in time,
To a moment gone, yet still alive.
I talk to myself, a younger version.
About hopes and dreams.
I ask him if he\'s happy, if life turned out well,
Or if he\'d make some changes, given hindsight\'s sight.
He smiles and he nods, tells me he\'s content,
But his eyes betray a sadness, a longing, a void.
We talk for a while, the boy and the man,
Sharing memories and fears, regrets, and plans.
And as we part ways, I can\'t help but feel,
That the answers I seek,
Are not inside me.
