She has waited a long time for this,
This new chapter in her life,
But it has finally come to pass,
That chapter bringing everything together
And giving her so much joy.
She has given her all to her work
Over nearly thirty years,
But they just did not know
Or they just did not care
That the person in her body
Wanted the job she had trained for,
The job she knew was hers.
And then it came,
The work that will lead her,
Lead her to make that difference,
