Introverted Sage

Shy Twice & Cliche\' No Longer

 Shy Twice

Once burned, the old adage cuts like a knife.
Relates to me dearly, a friend to my strife.
Love lost
I guess I take the blame.
Cared less for her needs, realizing the shame.

Looked in the mirror, now I see my part.
Self induced greed, right from the start.
Silent reflections, turned incoming streams.
Life is a bit, more than it seems.
Rewrite the script, new me - new theme.

Humbled in the process, no longer worried what others think.
Stepping up to the plate, giving my heart a little wink.
When love comes knocking back at my door.
\"Thank you God,\" I\'m ready. Long awaited encore.

 Cliche\' No Longer

Once burned, it hurts to say the rest.
To have and to hold. Got to get this off my chest.
Can\'t deny it. Yeah, I have regrets.
I ignored her needs, Wow! It\'s MY FAULT that she left.

Step by step, still a long way to go.
Deserted on my island, self dug rut starting to show.
Checked out self help books, meditated, found my zen.
Preparing my heart, to try at love again.

Priorities straight, humble heart anew,
anxious to proceed worries bid adieu.
Put others first, respect loves power,
react without greed, old ways begin to cower.
When again love visits, Thank you God that glorious day,
Happy endings in store, no longer cliche\'.
