I still remember the first kiss,
How our lips connected perfectly.
I still remember my trust for you,
Feeling it seep out of my body into yours.
I still remember my first disappointment,
But, oh, how your simple hands could take it all away.
I still remember seeing my parents fade away,
Seeing how their eyes changed.
I still remember the silliest things,
Leaving our laughter’s fill the night.
I still remember our arguments,
But I was just overreacting, as you said.
I still remember how my body reacted to your touch,
Telling you it’s all yours.
I still remember seeing my world fall apart around me,
Knowing deep down I’m not happy.
I still remember spending days and nights with you,
Begging our parents for just one more night.
I still remember letting you go,
Because It’s for my best.
I still remember my first night alone,
Feeling a weight being lifted from me.
Closing my eyes and you were never there,
But late nights you were the only thing there.
Although my body still craves you,
I don’t miss you.
The only thing I miss is the thought of you not actually you.
