Alexander J. Wolfe

By living, I am giving my life, to all of you.

I don\'t recall many times in life where I truly wanted to live.

There will always be a piece of me that would rather go.

Without life there is no suffering, and part of me has always felt that would be worth the loss of everything that is good.

My soul is a broken and beaten animal in an invisible cage built by love.

I have always been mentally ill.

I have seen that illness of the soul take the lives of people I loved too many times.

It swallows you whole and spits out an empty shell for the living to mourn.

I have seen and felt the soul destroying pain of loss.

That\'s why I won\'t let this monster spit me out into oblivion.

The value of one\'s life does not lie within the self.

The value of a life is estimated by others.

You will never know your own value.

You will not mourn yourself.

When you die, you will not miss out on life, life will miss out on you.

The essence of my life holds no value in my soul.

Yet the value of my life, in the eyes of others, is immeasurable.

It is not my right to deprive the world of that value.

I cannot do that to the ones I love.

So here I am, giving my life.

Fighting an eternal battle against my demons.

Giving every ounce of my being to those around me.

By living, I am giving my life, to all of you.
