The Joy of Being a Child

The joy of being a child
where your worries were so trivial
about how you didn\'t like school
or you didn\'t get the right cereal

Every day was a blast
hanging with your friends
looking back on it now
you wish it would never end

But, alas, we are here
mature in our age
we possess the same body
but it will never be the same

I remember holding my mother\'s hand
only as tall as her knee
every moment I cherish
when she was right beside me

Now, the monotonies of adulthood
are such an awful bore
and the stress from trying to make a living
is incredibly challenging to endure

As time passes by
you finally begin to realise
the joy of being a child
was the greatest time of our lives.
