The sounds of the war, ringing in their ears, Memories etched deep, a pain beyond years, Lives forever changed, they bear the scars, An ache in their hearts, that the world cannot bar.
They gave it all, for us, for our land, Fought with valor, against a ruthless band, Their sacrifice immense, beyond compare, But what about the wounds that they still bear?
PTSD, a silent ailment of the soul, Each day a struggle, an unending toll, Dreams, turned to nightmares, scars that run deep, A trauma that isn\'t easy to release.
Some lose everything, their minds, their homes, Their families shattered, and left alone, Homelessness, perhaps, the only way forward, The world forgets, the discomfort, untenable.
But if bravery lies in the willingness to fight, Shouldn\'t we stand by them, make things right? Appreciated, respected, and backed by support, To reclaim the lives that were so bravely fought?
We owe it to them, to our country, to ourselves, To empathize, to support, to stand by them, unchanged, To give hope, to bring healing, restore their peace, To ensure that the price that was paid, was not in vain.
So to our veterans, our heroes, our rock, We\'ll stand by you through the stormy block, We\'ll lift you up when you\'re feeling low, We thank you will all our hearts, and let that show.
With gratitude, and respect, we honor you, And pledge to stand by you, to follow through, With empathy, and love, and unwavering faith, Till all your battles, are conquered, safe.
