Like a rocket ship
It takes me back
To younger days
Towards my youth I flashback
Driving around in muscle cars
Sunny days and starlit nights
Listening to a song
A song called “Song of the Kite”
By a band named Private Lightning
Playing in south of Boston clubs
I’d hear it on the radio
And on my heart, it would tug
It’s about a radio DJ
By the name of Christopher Sky
Up high above he’s entranced
At the sight of a beautiful kite
Mesmerized for months in silence
He one day returns to the airwaves
Full of wonderful admiration
Of world love in his gaze
Over and over, he says
“There is love in the world”
And it always makes me smile
As I’m reminded of a certain girl
I know the feeling he must have felt
Seeing love in a kite with a tail a mile long
There is love in the world
Especially in that song
