Everybody knows how it hurts to grow up
Even though its passage hurts,
Nothing dares to stand in time\'s way
And nothing\'s safe from its tight grip
Everything must someday wither away
Every seed must grow into a tree
Or cease ere it gets the chance to be free
But no seed can eternally remain a seed
Without breaking through the surface
Or dying in darkness
A beautiful moment cannot be sustained
It will either pass or shift to pained
Nothingness, nevertheless
Holding on is all we can try
And once we see we lost
We cry
All the joy turns into past
Whilst but hardship and aging grief will last
As we\'re thrown into a world
Of harsh realities
And mighty cruelties
Given to us with no price to pay
Following no request
Merely thanks to nature\'s cold-blooded script are they laid at our feet
